Maruti is a 54.2% share owned Japan’s Suzuki company, to sell the -seater Eeco for Rs275000. The electric version of this vehicle was available in the Auto Expo. Maruti, having a stronghold in the India market with large ranges and 30 years presence, hopes to sell 40000 units of Eeco per year.

Director Babu Sivan is happy a lot that his maiden venture ‘Vettaikaran’ has become a ‘super hit’. He says his next venture too would be an action film.
“The victory of ‘Vettaikaran’ has made me caught the attention of many. Some actors have evinced interest to work with me. I am at present busy preparing the script,” he says.
Saying that ‘action stories’ always have the ability to reach the masses, the filmmaker says: “Hence I have decided to concentrate on scripts that have enough scope for stunt sequences. Racy films are welcomed by everyone.”
Thanking Vijay and Vijay Antony, he says, “Both have given their best to ‘Vettaikaran’. While Vijay took pains to excel on screen, Vijay Antony’s work at the recording studio is highly commendable. All the songs have become chartbusters.”

My Name Is Khan Music Review
The soundtrack of the latest offering of Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, " My Name Is Khan ", boasts of Sufi flavour. Composed by Johar's favourite Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the album has six originals and most of the compositions are soul-stirring.
The album starts with " Sajda ". Sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma, it's a Sufi number that tugs at one's heartstrings. The sounds of tablas and dholaks keep the listener hooked. With great voices behind the mike, "Sajda" is a must hear.
Next is " Noor-e-khuda ", an unplugged version sung by Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal and Shankar. It's a soft, pleasing love ballad that instantly strikes a chord. Most part of the song is male- dominated, but it gets an edge when Shreya enters with her honey-tucked voice close to the end of the track.
Shafqat Amanat Ali renders " Tere naina " brilliantly. The subtle orchestration and melody make for an interesting hear. It changes gear mid-way when it slips into the qawwali mode which elevates it further.
Up next is " Allah hi rahem " - again a Sufi number. Crooned by Rashid Ali, it is enchanting. The lyrics are simple yet profound and the song transports you to a completely different world. One of the best songs of the album.
Then there is " Rang de " by Shankar with ample support from Suraj Jagan. The song with influences of rock is nice and refreshing. It talks about peace, triumph and joy.
The album also has a " My Name Is Khan " theme song by Pakistani band Strings. It is an intriguing piece.
On the whole, every song in the album is above average. The composers have stuck to the theme of the film and the soundtrack has the potential to rock the charts.

Shivappu Mazhai creates Guinness record
Shivappu Mazhai, a film by V. Krishnamoorthy, has creeated a new record and entered the Guinness Book of World Records by being completed in less than 12 days.
Shooting and post-production of the two-hour Tamil film Shivappu Mazhai was completed in a record 11 days, 23 hours and 45 minutes, thus creating a new record.
The earlier record was set by filmmakers Russ Malkin and John Gore for their film The Fastest Forward, made in 13 days in 1990.
Shivappu Mazhai commenced on May 22 and was successfully completed by June 3, 2009, with more than 600 technicians working on the project. Director Krishnamoorthy revealed that the film is based on problems of Sri Lankan Tamils.
The film is all set to hit screens on January 14, 2010.

The screenland endeavor seems to have made Piyaa much elated. The young actress is eagerly awaiting the release of Goa that offered her a substantial role.
Says Piyaa, "It was a great experience working with Venkat Prabhu and his team. I am enacting the role of a Goa based girl."
The actress made her debut in Tamil film industry with director Vijay's Poi Solla Poram and later shared her screen space with Ajith Kumar in Aegan. It seems that the belle has become friendlier with Asin as they've been spending quality time together in Mumbai.
So, what if Piyaa hadn't become an actress? "I would have become a stylist as I had great likeliness for this profession right from my childhood," she signs off with a smile.

After playing Auro from Paa in a number of off-screen events, Amitabh Bachchan now assumes the role of media magnet Vijay Harshwardhan Mallik from his forthcoming movie Rann and will appear on a TV channel to do a year-end news round-up.
"And we aren't just talking about entertainment-related activities," said the film's co-producer Sheetal Talwar who was present when Big B donned the garb of a news anchor holding forth on events of the year from the world on the news channel, Times Now.
"And it was events from the world of global politics. Mr. Bachchan just took over the television space as though he had done news analysis all his life. It was an amazing experience," Talwar said.
On Wednesday night the megastar will reportedly be heard talking on roughly on six global issues of 2009 - Indian national politics, terrorism, cricket, swine flu, recession and Obama on an hour-long segment.
This would be the first of several media-related activities that the Big B is scheduled to participate in before director Ram Gopal Varma's Rann hits screens on January 29.
Apparently he intends to assume whatever character he plays in his forthcoming films and promote the film as the character rather than 'Amitabh Bachchan'.

"I would not think of anybody else except SRK and Kajol for the role of Rizwan and Mandira. They look beautiful together and their chemistry is difficult to explain in words."

Forever Release on February 4
Forever', a romantic music album made in five languages for the first time in India, would be launched on February four.
The album would have 60 songs by 30 eminent singers with the message ''Love and Music Prevail Forever.'' Being brought out by eminent lyricist East Coast Vijayan, the music for the album, which would be a continuation of the historic Malayalam superhit series ''Ninakkai'', ''Aadyamai'', ''Ormakkai'', ''Swantham'' and ''Iniennum'', was scored by Vijay Karun.
It was christened ''Ennennum'' in Malayalam, ''Entrentrum' in Tamil, ''Endendhu'' (Kannada), ''Ennadiki'' (Telugu) and ''Sadaa'' (Hindi).
Talking to reporters here last evening, the album team headed by Mr Vijayan said ''Ennennum'' would be a departure from the set of patterns and was a multilingual collection of melodies turned by Vijay Karun.
The melodies were meticulously crafted to perfection without losing its charm, feel and emotions in translation.
''The use of simple yet precise wordings with profound meanings and insight add to the sublime melodious effect of these songs.
''While maintaining the regional styles, the songs are marked by its amazing uniformity of composition and rendition,'' popular playback singer Unni Menon, who had sung some songs in the album, said.
Vijay said the theme ''Ennennum'' ws envisaged to transcend the barrier created by regionalism and to reaffirm the universality of music and love.
The added feature of the album was the songs that could be downloaded as caller tunes.

After a poor outing in ‘Sarvam’, Arya is ready to test the waters with a romantic comedy ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’. Rajesh, who spelt success with his maiden venture ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’, will direct Arya and Nayantara for the film.
Produced by Sreenivasan of Vasan Visual Ventures, the movie features comedian Santhanam in a key role while Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music. Rajesh is thrilled to direct Arya and Nayantara.
“When I penned this story, I had Arya in my mind. Thankfully, he agreed to be part of the film. So was Nayantara. She fits the role to a 'T'. It is aromantic comedy that will have all commercial elements in the right mix”, he says.
“Yuvan Shankar Raja shares a good rapport with me. His tunes in ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ were popular. Working with him is a great experience,” he says and adds: “Plans are on to release ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ in April 2010.”

Boss Engira Baskaran team has been camping in Trichy, Thanjavur and Kumbakonam where the major portion of the film is being shot. However, the director of BEB, Rajesh, who had directed Siva Manasula Sakthi, says that the film will move on to Chennai too and few scenes will be shot in the city. The director said that he aims to provide a family entertainer that has ample scope for comedy, romance and sentiment.
He adds that Nayanthara will sport the girl next door look in the film and will not don glamorous outfits, as like in her earlier films.

BSNL is all set to launch the 3G mobile service in Erode from February 2010. BSNL is currently focusing on installing the equipments required for the 3G services.
Sources also say that the installation services will be completed by second week of February. And BSNL has planned to launch the service either in the third or fourth week of February.
With this the Erode BSNL customers can have facilities like High speed internet facility, video calling etc.
