Earlier today we learned that Google is working on their own Google Phone, and has sent it to their employees around the globe. The name of the phone has now been discovered by the Wall Street Journal, and it’s called the Nexus One. Google is not building the phone, and it’s being manufactured by HTC.

Instead of a carrier like Verion/AT&T/Sprint offering this phone, Google is going to be offering it unlocked, and you will have to set it up with a carrier on your own.
We’ve heard people saying that the Nexus One phone is thinner than the iPhone, it has no physical keyboard, and runs on a snapdragon chip but these details are not confirmed. Daring Fireball reports seeing a Nexus One phone in their traffic logs, and so does the Boy Genius Report:
