Shobhana adopts a baby girl

Malayalam actress Shobhana has adopted a baby girl. Last week, the star went to the famous Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayoor for the choroonu (first solid food given to a baby in Kerala tradition) and the naming ceremony of the six-month-old girl, who has been named Ananthanarayani.

Shobhana recently held a big ceremony in Chennai, to announce her decision to adopt a child.

UP board 12th result 2010

UP board 12th result 2010, The Uttar Pradesh education Board will announce the intermediate class 12 exam results today on 26th May2010 at 12 noon and the class 10th exam results will be announced on 1st June 2010. The link to check the results are given below. The UP technical university UPTU results will be announced on 30th May 2010. The head office of the board is located in Allahabad. A secretary has been appointed to overlook the functions of the board. The UP board adopted the 10+2 examination system. After ten years, students sit for the High school examination which is followed by Intermediate examination after two years. The UP board of High school and Intermediate examination grants recognition to schools in its region, prescribe textbooks and courses for high school and intermediate level education, conduct high school and Intermediate examination, and provides equivalence to other board examinations conducted in India.

Worlds biggest diamond 507.55 carat

A gaint 507.55 carat white diamond was discovered at the Cullinan Mine near Pretoria, it is the third richest diamond producing mine in South Africa.

The diamond may be among the world's top 20 high-quality gems and has exceptional colour and clarity, indicated to be a Type I diamond.

No value has been give yet for the diamond, which weighs just over 100 grams, it is expected that the stone could be worth more than $20 million. In May 2008, the mine produced a sparkling 101.27 carat diamond.

Previously diamond mining giant De Beers, owned the mine, has discovered Cullinan Diamond in 1905 weighing 3 106 carats, which is part of the British crown jewels.

Gandhi house in South Africa sold for $377,029

Despite several efforts and noise from all over to force the Indian government to buy the Mahatma Gandhi house in South Africa, all efforts turned futile as a French Company clinched the deal by bidding for USD 377,029, outbidding all other applicants.

The French company, Voyageur du Monde plans to turn the Gandhi house into a museum and is well known for investing in heritage properties around the world. The company is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.

Gandhiji lived in this house between 1908 and 1910. The house was bought by Nancy and Jarrod Ball in the year 1981 for Rand 65,000.

Tallest dog in the world

An American woman, Caryn Weber, is the proud owner of Boomer (dog), measuring 3 feet tall at the shoulders and 7 feet long from nose to tail appeals ‘Boomer is the tallest dog in the world’.

Caryn is from eastern North Dakota and said that the dog, “comes into the house and his tail is so high everything gets knocked around”.

Caryn said that the fluffy black and white canine keeps all four paws on the floor when he drinks from the kitchen sink in her family’s farmhouse.

The 180-pound animal needs 20-pound bag of dry dog food for just two weeks.

Certainly Caryn has planned to send Boomer's measurements to Guinness World Records, the previous record holder was a Great Dane that measured almost 4 feet tall.

God doesn't exist, proved by survey

A Christian advertising campaign in the UK has declared that “God doesn't exist”, its own recent survey numbers says that 96 percent voted that they didn’t believe in the Almighty.

The multi-million pound drive for, The Alpha Course posed the question "Does God Exist?".

It urged people to consider the evidence before going online to choose the option "Yes", "No" or "Probably".

It is found that more than 88,000 responded to the posters and adverts.

The poll result on the Christian website met with a surprising result showing 96 percent insisting ‘there was no God’.

Only three per cent said they did believe, and remaining one per cent were unsure about God.
