Top guns of Kollywood- Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Ramanarayanan and Abirami Ramanathan met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi to discuss the issue of video piracy.
The issue has blown up following the leak of Sarath Kumar’s Jaggubhai on the internet and pirated videos. M. Karunanidhi the man who has done the maximum for Tamil film industry, went out of his way and promised to take action against persons who are in possession of pirated VCDs and DVDs of films.
The government will also take action against producers and sellers of pirated copies of feature films in the form of reels, compact discs and digital video discs. All those dealing in such illegal activities would be booked under the Goondas Act.
Later the delegation from the film industry thanked Kalaignar for taking prompt action against those who indulged in piracy of Jaggubhai.
