South Africa pulls out of Pakistan tour

South Africa has pulled out its tour of Pakistan due to security reasons. South Africa was scheduled to tour Pakistan to play 3 Tests and 5 ODIs in Oct-Nov 2010.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt has confirmed the news. He also said that Cricket South Africa has offered a solution to host these matches in South Africa itself.

"They have offered to instead host the series in South Africa as a 'home' series for Pakistan which means we will technically be the hosts"—he said.

He also said that Pakistan will first look its options to host the series in neutral venues.

"But we will definitely be hosting the series on schedule as it is an important one for us. We will decide on the neutral venues soon," he said.

There has been no international cricket in Pakistan soil since March 2009 after the attack on Sri-Lankan cricketers.
