Raj Thackeray appeals to use Marathi in daily life

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray who is well known to be an anti-North India campaigner requested Maharshtrians to use Marathi in daily life.

Thackeray has planned to send letters to every household in the state, insisting on use Marathi in daily life.

A party leader said, "Thackeray will pen the letter in Marathi and MNS workers will go to households in the state on February 27 to deliver the letter."

February 27 is been referred as Marathi Language Day every year in memory of noted poet VV Shirwadkar a.k.a Kusumagraj, whose birth anniversary falls on the day.

"In the letter, the MNS chief will urge the people to use Marathi everywhere, including offices, trains and marketplace," he added.

Marathi is the 4th most spoken language in India and the 15th most spoken language in the world.
