Director Thiru blames Namitha

The director of Namitha’s Azhagana Ponnuthan Thiru is fuming and blaming the actress for the film’s fiasco at the box-office.

Says a peeved Thiru: “ Namitha refused to cooperate with the making of Azhagana Ponnuthan She has distanced herself from the film and not given any time for the promotions. Please note she has gone out of her way to promote her earlier films like Nil Gavani Ennai Kadhali, Indira Vizha and even films of others. But not this film!

Earlier she had complained that she was afraid of me and did not give me dates for a crucial climax scene. It’s with great difficulty that I shot the film in the 25 days call sheet we got from her”.

The director goes on to say that the film’s planned length was 2 hours and 25 minutes but he could hardly shoot only two hours. A song and a crucial climax scene where the hero returns and escorts her back could not be shot due to her non cooperation, thereby changing the story!

Thiru claims that Namitha refused to act with newcomer Kartheesh. “But she already knew the story before accepting the film and had also done the photo shoots with the young hero. Why didn’t she back out then itself?” he questions. Thiru is upset that Namitha blamed his lack of experience since he has not worked as assistant to anyone before.
