Vishnuvardhana passes away

Dr Vishnuvardhana the superstar of Kannada cinema died of heart attack on Wednesday early morning (2.30 am) on the way to Vikram Hospital in Mysore.

Dr Bhasker who attended on him, declared the very sad news of his death. He took medical aid for his severe sugar complaint on Tuesday evening around 5 pm and was moved to Metro Polo Hotel. Dr Vishnuvardhana has acted in 200 films in his career spanning 37 years.

His actress wife Bharathi, daughter Keerthi Vardhana and son in law Anirudh were next to him at the time of death.

Dr Vishnuvardhana born in the year 1950 did his schooling in Mysore and got graduation in Science from National College in Bangalore.

He was in theatre for some time and in a small role ‘Vamshavruksha’ he made debut. The debut as hero was in ‘Nagarahavu’ in 1972. He did not look back after this film in his career of 37 years.

Dr Vishnuvardhana's super hits films are Nagarahvu, Hombisilu, Bandhana Gandhadha Gudi, Sahasa Simha, Devara Gudi, Kalla Kulla, Simha Jodi, Nagara Hole, Bandhana, Muthina Haara, Malaya Marutha, Lion Jagapathi Rao, Rayaru Bandaru Mavana Manege, Laali, Veerappa Nayaka, Simhadriya Simha, Jamindaru, Nishkarsha Aptha Mithra, Kiladi Kittu and others.

He is the winner of seven state awards and five Filmfare awards.
