Spain vs Paraguay Live Streaming
Paraguay will continue to rely on their rock solid defence to keep out Spain in their quarterfinal clash in the 2010 World Cup finals on Saturday to be played in Johannesburg.
The South Americans have been stellar at the back with only one goal conceded throughout the whole tournament. And goalkeeper Justo Villar is confident that he and his defence will be able to keep out the goal threat from Spain’s David Villa, who is currently the top scorer in the finals with four goals.
“We can’t give them space,” Villar said. “They are a team who have a very good touch and who move the ball very quickly – if we give them just a little bit of space they will slap us in the face.
“Our football has always been about effort and our tactical setup, that is what our game is based up on. So, you are going to have a clash of two different kind of football. Their way is about creating and ours is more about stopping them and then taking our chances.”
Paraguay boss Gerardo Martino is also unconcerned about the lack of goals from his strikers who have all yet to find the net after four games. The Argentinian believes that his side will see off the daunting challenge from Spain with their most powerful ingredient – their heart and courage.
“Spain have been playing well, so too have Germany, but for me Argentina are the best team in the quarter-finals,” Martino said.
“We will go out against Spain aiming to win. In the World Cup, it’s not always the team who plays well who wins, but the one which shows the most courage, the most heart and the best fighting spirit.”
