Diploma in Film Acting


The Diploma in Film Acting is designed as a creative mix of aesthetics, intelligence, psycho-physical wellbeing, and body language.

Trajectory 1: Focus on Body as the Language of Acting
Trajectory 2: Focus on Performing for an Audience
Trajectory 3: Focus on Camera Mediation (acting in fiction film)

Audition / Screen-test & Portfolio: The culmination of the programme is the professional audition / screen-test conducted in the presence of leading film-makers. Each student who successfully completes the programme will have a professional portfolio.

Course Duration:
January 2010 to June 2010

Class Timings:
05.00 PM to 07.00 PM, Monday through Friday

Faculty:
The motto of the School of Media Studies is ‘Master the craft with master craftspersons.’ Accordingly, the faculty members are drawn directly from the media industry. Award-winning film-makers and actors are involved as guest faculty.

Fees: Rs 45,000/-

Eligibility:
Anyone with the necessary aptitude, irrespective of academic qualifications / age / sex, could apply for the Diploma.

Admission Schedule:
Registration commences on 08 January 2010
Aptitude Test / Interview on 18 January 2010
Payment of Fees [single payment] on or before 22 January 2010
Course commencement on 27 January 2010

Department of Animation

Diploma in Visual Effects, Animation and Game Design

The Diploma in Visual Effects, Animation and Game Design has an innovative design to cater to the individual student’s need and skill level. Accordingly, it is offered in Modules [each Module spread over five months], and students may choose any one Module at a time.

Module 1: 2D Animation with Flash
After completing Module 1, students would be able to originally conceptualize and effectively use Flash to execute programmes like Chotta Bean and Dora.

Module 2: Game Design with 3DS Max
After completing Module 2, students would be able to aesthetically design games and execute programmes like Little Power Rangers by using 3DS Max.

Module 3: Visual Effects with Maya
After a brief overview of Maya, students would, depending on their interest and career objectives, choose any one of the following specific applications of Maya to specialise.
Option 1-Modeling and Rigging
Option 2-Texturing and Lighting
Option 3-Animation

Course Duration: January 2010 to June 2010

Class Timings: 05.00 PM to 07.00 PM, Monday through Friday

Faculty:

Leading animators and visual effects designers of national and international repute [like Mr Bryan Jennings] are involved as guest faculty.
