The Los Angeles Kings Monday released their 65-game television schedule on FOX Sports West/PRIME TICKET for the 2009-010 season, and for the first time all Kings games will be broadcast in High Definition (HD), it was announced by Kings Vice President, Communications and Broadcasting Michael Altieri.

Coverage this season kicks-off with the first 16 Kings games televised, including the 2009-10 regular season opener on Saturday, October 3, at STAPLES Center against Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. Other highlights of this year’s TV broadcast schedule include: Kings versus the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins (November 5); all four Kings-Detroit Red Wings games; the Kings versus the Washington Capitals (January 2); and the Kings’ final two regular season games (at home against Edmonton on April 10 and at Colorado on April 11) – all in HD, an increase from 10 HD games one season ago.

“The fact that our games are in HD this year is great for Kings fans and it is great for hockey fans,” said Kings President, Business Operations Luc Robitaille. “We salute our partners at FS WEST for making this commitment.”

Kings television play-by-play announcer Bob Miller and color commentator Jim Fox return to broadcast Kings games this season. Miller returns for his 37th season as the television “Voice of the Kings” and Fox, the former Kings forward, is entering his 20th season as the club’s television color commentator. Steven Dorfman will begin his first season on Kings telecasts, serving as the producer, and Mike Hassan will again direct the telecasts, a position he has held since 1995. Kings Vision host Heidi Androl will also return for her second as a reporter along with FS WEST reporter Patrick O’Neal in his fifth season.
