New Zealand cricket board has announced that Jesse Ryder will miss the third season of IPL due to groin injury.
The board members have also announced that Ryder is focusing to recover soon for the upcoming T20 world cup in West Indies.
"Jesse is understandably disappointed about not going to India for the IPL, but he is realistic about returning too early and aggravating his groin injury"-- Ryder's manager said.
He also said that he doesn’t want to rush up and miss both the tournaments by participating in the IPL.
“He is better to be completely recovered and play a full tournament in the West Indies than risk rushing back to play IPL and jeopardising his involvement in both tournaments”—he added.
He also said though he is very keen on his participation in the 2011 IPL, his priority always lies in playing for his nation.
