Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine and producer of Ajith's Venkat Prabhu directed Mankatha is gung-ho about the film.
Alagiri junior recently saw a rough cut of the film and commented on his social networking site- "Mankatha has come out really well. The Interval block is a big hit. I've never seen Ajith saar in this kind of a role. Never! Outstanding performance!"
He also made it clear that Mankatha team is not delaying the audio release purposely but it is taking time.
Meanwhile the Mankatha team is trying their best to come out with the audio in July itself, so that they can release the film in August.

Aascar to market Velayudham directly
Aascar Films V Ravichandran, the producer of Vijay's Velayudham has decided to release it directly.
The entire shoot of the film is over, except for a song which will be shot in a foreign location.
The budget of Velayudham which was initially said to be Rs 35 Crore has gone haywire. Now the film when it reaches the theatres will cost Rs 45 Crore due to various factors like more number of shooting days, production delays and increased special effects and graphics cost.
The film has been sold only Indian domestic only Kerala and Karnataka.
No distributor in TN is willing to touch it due to high cost. There are no big buyers in Tamil cinema after the recent political change of guard.
The best way out for Aascar films is to release directly to the theatres , on MG or deposit basis. Aascar Ravi has done it successfully when he made biggies like Dasavatharam and Anniyan.
If all goes well, Vijay fans can look forward to Velayudham release in the last week of August.

Jeeva-Jayam Ravi bond big time
There is some serious male-bonding happening between Jiiva and Jayam Ravi.
In fact, they share such a close bond that both leave no stone unturned to be present at functions and ceremonies concerning the other.
In style with that practice, Jayam Ravi turned up for the audio launch of Rowthiram, which features Jiiva and Shriya Saran in the lead.
What he spoke on the occasion gave those gathered there an idea of the friendship that the two share.
Said Jayam Ravi, "Jiiva and I have been good friends for a very long time. In fact, the maximum number of functions that I have attended apart from those of my own family is that of Jiiva’s family. Both of us make it a point to attend each others family and film functions. But recently he did something which I cannot forget and something which touched my heart. I had invited him for my son's birthday party. Jiiva said he would be unable to make it but much to my surprise his wife Supriya turned up with their nine-month-old baby for the event. I had not allowed my child to be taken anywhere outside my home until he turned a year. But here was Jiiva who had allowed his child to be brought to my home even before he had completed one. I was touched."
Rememeber that the two buddies are also gearing up to work together in a film that is to be directed by S P Jananathan of Peraanmai fame.

Vasantha Balan’s next film is Aravan
The pathbreaking director Vasantha Balan after the critically acclaimed hit Angadi Theru has started his work on his new film Aravan. The film is produced by T Siva of Amma Creations.
The film will have Aadhi of Mirugam & Eeram fame as hero while Dhansika, who debuted in Peraanmai, will play the female lead. Malayalee girl Archana Kavi of Neelathamara fame (see pic) will be the second heroine.
Vasanth Balan who introduced GV Prakash is once again introducing a new music director, playback singer Karthik, while Siddharth will be the cameraman.

The shoot of the last song of Sun Pictures big budget, Shankar directed Endhiran (Robot) is over. It was shot at the state-of- the- art Sun Studios at Perungudi in Chennai.
The song likely to be the chartbuster and tuned by AR Rahman was picturised on Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai on a futuristic set created by Sabu Cyril.
The latest we hear is that the mixing of this prestigious film will take place in Los Angeles. Shankar is flying to US next week after the release of his S Pictures Anandhapurathu Veedu for the post production work of the biggie.

Simbu and Anushka in Tamil remake of Vedam from Telugu
At last, Silambarasan is all smiles as Anushka has agreed to be a part of his next film. It is the Tamil remake of Vedam from Telugu.
And the icing on the cake for the actor is that there will be a song shot on them which is not there in the original.
A visibly elated Simbu told Sify.com: “Yes, I am very happy. I loved Vedam and thought that the subject will work big time in Tamil. I have about 20 days work in this film and then I will be off to London for Poda Podi shoot”.
Remember that Silambarasan is a huge fan of Anushka and has confessed in all his interviews that she is his favourite actress! Anushka who had done the original, was initially not excited about doing the Tamil version. But sources close to the actress say that she gave the green signal after making sure that Krish the director who directed the original will direct the Tamil version.
Now Simbu will do the role of cable Raju made memorable by Allu Arjun and Manoj (son of Mohan Babu) will play the same character he did in the original . Hunt is on for a girl to play Simbu’s heroine while Santhanam may play his side kick. Jithen Ramesh and VTV Ganesh will produce the film which will start rolling from July 10 in Chennai.

Kavalkaran Teams goes to Malaysia
Vijay and the unit of his Kavalkaran flew to Malaysia on Friday night for a one week shoot of the film.
As per our sources director Siddique will be shooting a song and part of an action scene there, for this remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.
Kavalkaran has been embroiled in controversies. First a battle is raging between the Malayalam producer of the original Johnny Sagarika and director Siddique over the remake rights.
Then Asin shooting in Sri Lanka for Hindi film Ready with Salman Khan has piqued Kollywood industry.
The issue is likely to snowball with Radha Ravi saying a meeting of Nadigar Sangam would be called to discuss it.

After three back-to-back films with Abhishek Bachchan, director Mani Ratnam wants Ranbir Kapoor for his next Hindi film.
The maverick moviemaker is currently wrapping up Raavan with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and will move to his next film with Ranbir in the lead as soon as Raavan (now in post-production) releases on June 18.
In fact, Mani had shown keen interest in working with Ranbir right after Saawariya. The two had spoken about a project, which got postponed as Mani got busy with Raavan. But now those talks will result in a film. Though sources close to the actor say it's too early to talk about the project, the news from Mani's front is that the film written by Rensil d'Silva (who also wrote Raavan) is a coming-of-age story about a young NRI in London.
As soon as Ranbir finishes the intensive promotion work for his new release Raajneeti, Mani will narrate the scipt to the young actor. RK has, incidentally, also greenlighted his best-friend Ayaan (Wake Up,Sid) Mukerjee's next film which is in the scripting stage. As for the prestigious Mani project, the filmmaker's spokesperson says, "It's too early to talk about it. Right now Mani Sir and the entire team is focusing on the release of Raavan."

After the super success of ‘Varanam Aayiram’, ‘Thamizh Padam’ and ‘Paiyaa' Cloud 9 Movies has now acquired "Naan Mahaan Alla" starring Karthi and Kajal Agarwal also. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and directed by ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ Suseendran.
Cloud 9 Movies said “We are happy to be associated with this prestigious project produced by 'Studio Green'. We love working with Karthi and it was a good experience in 'Paiyaa' too. Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja held a press meet to announce that his Karthi- Kajol Agarwal starrer Naan Mahaan Alla, directed by Suseenthiran is ready for release in July.
Those present at the meet included hero Karthi, director Suseenthiran, cinematographer Mathi, editor Kasi Viswanath, dialogue writer Baskar Sakthi and producer Gnanavel. The film will be marketed by Cloud Nine
The Paiyaa team of Karthi, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja and cameraman Mathi are together again in NMA. Says director Suseenthiran: “If my earlier film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu had a village milieu, NMA has a city background. The film belongs to Karthi and Pasanga fame Jayaprakash who plays his dad”
NMA story in a nutshell is about a happy go lucky guy played by Karthi being drawn into a cesspool of crime after an incident changes his life. Kajol plays what the director says “a cute girl, something similar to what Asin did in Ghajani”.
Karthi says: “ Suseenthiran says that my character in NMA is similar in nature to the moody yet jovial characterization of Karthik in Mani Sir’s Mouna Ragam. The film is racy and I play Jeeva, a typical middle class Chennai youth and the story is a slice of life in a big city. It is a stylish yet realistic film.”

Ravanan Review
Dev falls in love with Ragini, a Sapunky classical dancer who is a unconventional as him. They get married and he takesup his new post in Vikramasingapuram, a small town in southern India. A town where the word of law is not the police but Veera, a tribal who has, over the years, shifted the power equation of the place from the ruling to the have-nots of the area.
Dev knows that the key tp bringing order to any place is to vanquish the big fish; in this case - veera. In one stroke Dev manges to rip open Veera's world, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes.
